Breast Cancer Awareness activities planned for October
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
In 2003, the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign celebrates 18 years of educating women about breast cancer, especially the importance of detecting the disease in its earliest stages through screening mammography, clinical breast exam, and self breast exam.
Here are some of the events planned in the local area. For more information call Breast Health Center coordinator Kim Lynch, RN, 373-6540. (You can visit The Women's Center at www.midcoasthealth.com/women which has links to the Breast Health Center.)
