Mid Coast Hospital offers session on breathing difficulties and lung disease Thursday evening, September 22, 6:30 p.m.

Its not unusual and sometimes the sensation of difficulty breathing might be normal or attributed to a mild illness. However, for those who have a sense of difficulty breathing or breathlessness--not getting enough air--with only mild exercise or recurring in certain positions, it may be time to consult a doctor.

A session on Thursday evening, September 22, at Mid Coast Hospital, will discuss these concerns beginning at 6:30 p.m., in the Cafe Conference Rooms. For more information call the hospital at 373-6367.

Pulmonologist Paul LaPrad, MD, will discuss not only the possible causes of breathing difficulties but also the newest diagnostics and treatments for breathing difficulties and lung disease. Dr. LaPrad is a pulmonologists with Chest Medicine Associates and is board certified in critical care. He is one of four pulmonologists serving the Intensive Care Unit at Mid Coast Hospital.

Also on hand for the discussion will be respiratory therapist Mark Cushman and members of the staffs of the hospital's pulmonary rehabilitation department and Sleep Disorders Center.
