'Bloomin' Plant Sale' at Mid Coast Hospital, May 12
Hardy perennials, wildflowers, shrubs, herbs, flower and vegetable seedlings make lovely Mother’s Day gifts.

Fundraising “Blooming Plant Sale” at Mid Coast Hospital May 12

BRUNSWICK—The first annual “Bloomin’ Plant Sale” will be held at the Mid Coast Hospital Café patio on Friday, May 12, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., sponsored by the MCH Auxiliary. The hospital is at 123 Medical
Center Dr., off Bath road, one mile from Cook’s Corner.

The new venture features hardy perennials from mid coast Maine gardens of MCH Auxilians, volunteers, employees, corporators and friends. In addition, a limited number of wildflowers will be offered, as well as shrubs, herbs, flower and vegetable seedlings. Another very special feature is the sale of lovely flowering plants for Mother’s Day gifts, which is Sunday, May 14.

In conjunction with the plant sale, tickets are now on sale at the hospital Gift Shop for a May basket drawing of four home and gardens items----a combination lounge/rocking chair from Skillin’s Greenhouse in East Brunswick, a $100 gift certificate from York’s Hardy Rhododendrons in North Bath, a Hague drinking water system from Aqua-Vend of New England in Auburn, and a Mother’s Day gardening basket from the Auxiliary board of directors. Tickets are 6 for $5 or $1 each. The winners will be drawn at the end of the sale.

Donations of perennials, seedlings and small shrubs may be taken to the hospital patio from Sunday, May 7, to Thursday, May 11, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Plants should be potted and tagged. To reach the patio, go in the main entrance of the hospital, turn left into the Medical Office Building and take the first doors on the right.
Signs will indicate where to leave the plants.

The patio may also be reached from the Medical Office Building parking lot.

This is an opportunity for gardeners to share plants they no longer need in their gardens, perhaps because of the re-design of gardens, an over abundance or to make rooms for other kinds of plants.

Proceeds from the sale benefit health career scholarships and hospital projects. For more information, please call MCH Volunteer Services, 373-6015 or e-mail, mstewart@midcoasthealth.com.
