Fochesato takes on dual role at Mid Coast Hospital

Melissa Fochesato has been appointed ACCESS Health and Substance Abuse Prevention Director at Mid Coast Hospital. This role combines the Healthy Maine Partnership activities of tobacco control, physical activity, and nutrition with those of Substance Abuse prevention.

"Melissa brings a wonderful mix of prevention experience and a high level of enthusiasm for community work" says Marla Davis, Mid Coast Hospital's Director for Community Health improvement. "We are delighted to have her in this leadership role."

Before joining Mid Coast Hospital, Melissa was a health educator and program coordinator for two outstanding public health departments in Maricopa County, AZ, and Washtenaw County, MI, where she coordinated worksite wellness, school health, tobacco prevention, obesity prevention, and community assessment initiatives.

She brings seventeen years of coalition building and public health prevention experience to ACCESS Health.

Melissa earned her BS degree in Health and Family Life from the University of Maine in 1994 and is currently enrolled in a public health graduate certificate program at University of Southern Maine's Muskie School.

Melissa lives in Brunswick with her husband and two children.
