As a sports fellowship trained Orthopedic Surgeon with Mid Coast Medical Group, Lisa Khoury, MD says the most rewarding part of her work is helping patients return to the activities they love.
When Dr. Khoury graduated with an Art History degree from Princeton University and began a career working at the National Gallery of Art and the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC, it didn’t take her long to realize she belonged in healthcare. After all, medicine runs in her family. Her father attended medical school and worked as a scientist for the National Institute of Health. It is due to this connection that she ultimately followed her father’s wish for her to become a doctor.
After completing medical school at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and a Sports Medicine Fellowship at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases, she took a job working in the Whi te Mountains of New Hampshire. Treating skiers, hikers, mountain climbers, and athletes of all ages she fell in love with New England and its active population.
The newest member of Mid Coast Medical Group – Orthopedics, Dr. Khoury enjoys the cohesive, community feel of Mid Coast, as well as the expertise and support from other medical specialty groups it offers. She looks forward to serving the Midcoast community while enjoying all of the wonderful outdoor activities the area has to offer.
