Junior Volunteers

Mid Coast Hospital has a very active summer junior volunteer program that runs for eight weeks, the end of June through the third week of August. Juniors perform a variety of tasks, including work in the Café, Gift Shop, Gardens, Information Desk, Transport Team and all patient units.

Students must be 13 by June 30 to enter the program and may be in the program until age 17. Applications must be filed by May 15 for the summer program, and a new application must be completed every summer. Students who complete the summer program are most welcome to volunteer during the school year as well.

Students must complete the hospital’s orientation program to participate, which is held at the beginning of the summer session. An awards banquet honors students at the end of the program.

The program is also an opportunity for students to learn about health careers, through volunteering in various departments and by attending special educational programs where speakers talk about the many opportunities in health careers. Students are informed of the MCH Auxiliary health career scholarship program, awarded to qualified college students.

Please call 207-373-6015 for an application.
