Millie Stewart,

Millie
Stewart, Director of Volunteer Services since 1982,
is a graduate of the University of Maine.
A
past president of the Maine Society Directors of Healthcare Volunteer
Services, she currently serves on its board as the AHA American
Society Directors of Volunteer Services liaison and public relations
chair. She is a longtime active member of the New England Association
Directors of Healthcare Volunteer Services, has chaired New England
conferences when hosted in Maine, serves as editor of the NEADHVS
newsletter, THINK NEWS, and serves on its board. She is also treasurer
of Volunteer Administrators of Midcoast Maine.
Her
volunteer work at Mid Coast Hospital has earned three New England
President’s awards for outstanding volunteer programs, and the
Extraordinary Program Award from the American Society for “The
Kids’ Project.”
Active
in many civic endeavors, Millie is a founder, board member and
past treasurer of “Home to Home,” a United Way agency which
provides an exchange center for divorced and separated families
who cannot exchange children for visitation without violence.
She
is also a longtime, active member of the Bath Brunswick Branch
of American Association of University Women. In l990, the Chamber
of Commerce honored her with the “Citizen of the Year Award”
for her work as chair of the Town of Brunswick 250th Anniversary
celebration.
