Mid Coast Neurologist Named Physician of the Year by Maine Osteopathic Association
John A. Taylor, DO, of Mid Coast Medical Group–Neurology was awarded the Louis Hanson, DO, Physician of the Year award by the Maine Osteopathic Association (MOA) at the group’s awards luncheon in June at the Samoset Resort in Rockland. According to the MOA, the award is presented to a DO who, “has demonstrated a high quality of practice, a compassionate interest in patients and a commitment to their community.”

COVID-19 Update, June 16: Visitation Safety Measures at Mid Coast Hospital
Recognizing the importance of visitors to the wellbeing of patients, Mid Coast Hospital has updated its policy on visiting and escorting patients. This policy is an update to the Visitation Safety Measures imposed on Friday, March 20, 2020 and were most recently updated on March 8, 2022. This latest update will take effect on June 16, 2022, and shall remain in effect until further notice.

Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary's Grand & Glorious Yard Sale Set for May 20-22
This year’s Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary Grand and Glorious Yard Sale will take place May 20, 21 and 22 at Merrymeeting Plaza in Brunswick. Presented as two unique shops, the yard sale’s stores are full of new and gently used, donated merchandise including furniture, jewelry and housewares.

Mid Coast–Parkview Health Names Martins as Communications Leader
John Martins, who has nearly 25 years’ experience in health care communications in Maine, including the past three years as director of communications and public affairs at LincolnHealth, has been named as the communications director at both LincolnHealth and Mid Coast–Parkview Health.

Mid Coast Hospital Nationally Recognized with Top Safety Grade
Mid Coast Hospital received an “A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for spring 2022. This national distinction recognizes Mid Coast Hospital’s achievements in protecting patients from preventable harm and error in the hospital.

Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary Announces Return of Grand & Glorious Yard Sale
After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary’s Grand and Glorious Yard Sale plans to return May 20, 21, and 22 at Merrymeeting Plaza in Brunswick. From April 9 through May 14, donations of gently used goods will be accepted Saturdays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Mid Coast–Parkview Health Announces Retirement of President Lois Skillings
Mid Coast–Parkview Health announced that President Lois Skillings, RN, MS, FACHE, will retire in early 2023. The announcement was made in a joint statement written by Lennie Burke, Chair of the Mid Coast–Parkview Health Board of Directors, and Kelly Elkins, Chief Operating Officer of MaineHealth. Skillings has worked for Mid Coast–Parkview Health in numerous nursing and leadership capacities since 1979, serving as president for the past 11 years.

On January 13, 2022, more than 250 Corporators, board members, medical staff members, auxilians, donors, and community leaders attended the Mid Coast–Parkview Health annual meeting, which was held virtually due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Holiday Hours at Mid Coast Hospital Outpatient Practices
In observance of the upcoming Christmas holiday, Mid Coast Medical Group practices, Mid Coast Hospital Diagnostic Imaging, and Mid Coast Hospital Laboratory Service Centers in Bath, Topsham, and at the Parkview Campus will be closed on Friday, December 24. The Mid Coast Hospital Laboratory at 123 Medical Center Drive will close at 2 p.m., and the Mid Coast Hospital Walk-In Clinic will close at 5 p.m.
