Mid Coast Hospital recently opened a brand-new Center for Community Health & Wellness. Part of the $6.2 million renovation of its Parkview campus, the 9,000 square-foot facility is located on the first floor of the former hospital at 329 Maine Street in Brunswick. The Center offers quality health information, education, and resources to help with preventing and managing chronic disease.
The new Center for Community Health & Wellness provides a state-of-the-art space for patients and community members to address wellness needs. The new facility includes a teaching kitchen, medical exercise facility, space for education and classes, resources, and counseling.
Programs offered by the Center focus on cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, medical exercise, weight loss, stress reduction, and tobacco cessation. New initiatives include medical exercise for cancer, stroke, and other chronic diseases, as well as a full array of cooking classes in the teaching kitchen. Upcoming highlights include Cooking with a Doc and a visiting celebrity chef series in partnership with local restaurants.
We are continuously adding new programs in line with the health needs of our community, helping individuals become and stay healthy. For a listing of upcoming classes, screenings, and support groups visit: www.midcoasthealth.com/wellness.
