An opportunity to have a voice in your healthcare system
Mid Coast Hospital Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC) is a volunteer committee made up of patients, family members, administration, and staff collaborating to promote patient-centered care at Mid Coast Hospital and Mid Coast Medical Group.
Membership
If you have had recent experiences at the hospital or with Mid Coast Medical Group offices, the PFAC is a chance to share your thoughts. You can participate in work groups and projects that focus on improving patient experiences.
If you are interested in taking part as a volunteer, we request the following:
- A brief application and interview
- An orientation meeting held at a time convenient for you
- Attendance at regular advisory group meetings
- A one-year commitment so you can get to know us
Recent PFAC Projects
- Participated in Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) projects for the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP)
- Improved the Mid Coast Medical Group Patient Portal by providing input on new processes to ensure more timely communication and training for staff
- Reviewed and provided input on referrals process from primary care to specialty practices
- Provided input on patient care white boards in hospital rooms, letters to patients, and proposed patient materials
- Played key role in quiet initiatives at Mid Coast Hospital to improve inpatient experiences
- Developed patient survey for feedback on possible extended office hours
