Joint
Commission
MID COAST HOSPITAL is proud to be accredited
by the Joint Commission.
The Joint Commission (Formerly, the Joint
Commission on the Accreditation of Health
Care Organizations) has been accrediting
hospitals for more than 50 years. Its accreditation
is a nationwide seal of approval that indicates
a hospital meets high performance standards.
The evaluation process includes an annual
review by the hospital resulting in a quality
improvement action plan and unannounced site
surveys by the commission.
Accreditation helps the Mid Coast Hospital
patient care team continually improve its
performance, raise the level of patient care,
and demonstrate accountability in the rapidly
changing healthcare field.
