National Recognition as a Magnet Hospital
 The Magnet Recognition Program® was developed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to recognize health care organizations that provide nursing excellence and quality patient outcomes.
Less than 7 percent of hospitals in the country have been awarded Magnet designation. Mid Coast remains the only community hospital in Maine to achieve this status, joining Maine Medical Center, a tertiary-care facility, as the only other hospital in the state to carry this distinction.
Magnet Recognition is the ultimate benchmark to measure the quality of care that patients can expect to receive from a hospital.
