Mid Coast Hospital volunteers:
- are team players—providing great customer service wherever that service need might be
have positive attitudes, and are cheerful, friendly and enthusiastic
- are willing to help patients and families, whatever the situation may be
- understand that safety is #1 and everybody’s business
- have a high respect for patients and their families
- absolutely understand importance of patient confidentiality
- work at being good listeners and making eye contact
- work effectively with entire hospital staff, paid or unpaid
- have the ability to follow directions well
- attend hospital volunteer orientation and specialized training
- are dependable and available for one volunteer shift a week, for at least six months
