Students, teachers, and parents statewide are preparing to return to classrooms safely next month. During this time, Mid Coast Hospital would like to assure our community that it is also safe to resume your routine medical visits.
Below, please find information about routine preventative services that are currently fully available through the Mid Coast–Parkview Health system. Please be assured that all of our facilities have implemented heightened safety measures to ensure the wellbeing of our patients and staff. Our new safety protocols include screening employees and patients upon entrance, universal masking, social distancing, stringent hand hygiene, and enhanced cleaning routines. If you have additional questions, feel free to contact your provider or visit the Mid Coast Medical Group website at www.midcoasthealth.com/mcmg/.
- Immunizations: With the temporary closing of our primary care practices this spring, some individuals may have fallen behind on their physicals and immunizations. If your child needs immunizations to return to school in September, contact their provider to set up an appointment. Also remember that adults need vaccines, too.
- Colonoscopies: Experts recommend most people get a colonoscopy once they turn 50 and continue with regular screenings through the age of 75.
- Mammograms: For women over the age 45, getting regular mammograms is vital to your health, as early detection of breast cancer can save your life.
In these unprecedented times, it is more important than ever to look after your health. Now is a good time to reach out to your provider to ensure you are up to date with needed care. Preventative care is crucial to keeping you well and to our mission of caring for the health of our community. We look forward to seeing you this fall!
